Available Equipment in the Digital Studio

FCRC (Room 205)

All computers installed in the Faculty Computing Resource Center are equipped with Microsoft Office, Adobe CS6, etc. Specialty applications such as Audacity (audio editing), ArcGIS, Mathematica, OmniPage OCR, etc. are also installed although not all applications are on all computers.  There are 2 iMacs, that are configured as dual boot Mac OS X and Windows 7.  There are 2 Dell PCs that have HP ScanJet and Epson Scanners. A  22" Wacom Cintiq HD Touch Pen Display is available  and suited for a variety of creative work, including animation, photography, graphic design, and video editing. 

Both an HP Color LaserJet 3800n and a LaserJet 4050tn are also available to all computers in the FCRC.

ConnectIT Lab (Room 206)

The two smaller Multipurpose Rooms located in the Digital Studio on the second floor of Schaffer Library were combined and converted into an extended, flexible environment for faculty and students to connect with remote locations in real time to research, practice, and experiment with multi-modal, collaborative, and adaptive learning techniques. The “ConnectIT Lab” offers technology that provides an immersive learning/meeting environment for participants, connecting two remote locations for synchronous instruction and real time collaboration to enhance learning and other important college initiatives and events.  Drop ceiling mics, 2 HD wide angle cameras, a 70” LCD display, and 4 ceiling speakers provide the foundation and infrastructure needed for a virtual experience of high quality. There is a Mac mini permanently installed in the room that connects to the LCD.  Seating capacity is 16.

Production Studio (Room 209)

This room is setup to do production video.  Faculty, staff and students (with a faculty/staff sponsor) can use this space to record video sessions.  The room is equipped with 5 LED Lights, Green Screen, black back drop, microphones, and HD, digital video, robotic cameras.  The room is also equipped 3 iMacs. One with a digital mixer, one with a digital switcher, and the last has live stream, Zoom, and record capabilities. The is also another separate record device to record directly to a flash drive or larger external hard drives. The studio also has a Learning Glass Lightboard for use with recordings that would like to incorporate drawing and annotations. Isolation Booth (Room 234) 

The 4'x6' isolation booth is equipped with a noise-canceling microphone and two sets of headphones for creating podcasts and/or lectures. A Mac Pro with a 22" Wacom Cintiq is also available and loaded with all the necessary software for pre and post audio production.
