How do I transition my Gradescope assignments from an LTI 1.1 integration to LTI 1.3?

Tags Gradescope

This article is intended for users that have a course already built out with the LTI 1.1 integration (any course before Fall 2024) that used Gradescope. You need to switch to Gradescope LTI 1.3. You only need to do this one time per course that still has the 1.1 integration.

How will you know?

If you copy your course over from a prior term that used Gradescope, click on one of the Gradescope assignments. If you are NOT prompted to Select Content at the top of the page, you need to follow the instructions below. A 1.3 Gradescope assignment looks like this:

Step 1: Add Gradescope to your course

  • In Nexus in edit mode, select [Add an activity or resource] > [Gradescope].  After saving, launching this link will create a pop up window that looks like that will ask you several questions in order to provision a Gradescope space for your course and link it to Nexus.. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)(click to see larger image)
  • Follow those prompts to select the settings you'd like for your Gradescope course space.

Step 2: Follow Gradescope Instructions

Step 3: Remove any old Gradescope 1.1 links from your course (if any)

Make sure any old links to 1.1. are removed that you didn't relink and aren't using.
