Files from older versions of Word (.doc) may need to be converted to the latest version (.docx) in order for the Office Accessibility Checker to run.
The option to convert the file to the latest version of Word (.docx) is under the File tab.
Warning - Save a copy of the file in it's original older version (.doc) as a backup. The conversion can introduce formatting and layout changes. Carefully review the content after Word has converted it.
