Union College has a finite amount of cloud storage for your Zoom recordings. As a result, faculty and staff Zoom cloud recordings are retained on a rolling 120 day basis. Student Zoom cloud recordings are retained on a rolling 7 day basis. FInd out how to download your recordings from the cloud to save them locally, and then delete your recordings from the Zoom cloud storage.

 

 

NOTE: Files in the trash do not count toward your cloud recording storage and will be permanently deleted in 30 days.

Accessing Recording Management

 

  1. Sign into your Zoom account on your through your web browser at union.zoom.us.
  1. In the navigation menu in the left sidebar, click [Recordings] and then click the [Cloud Recordings] tab to see a list of cloud recordings on your account.
  1. You can adjust the date range and status, then search by host, meeting ID, topic, or keyword.  There is no limit on the date range you can specify.

Download Your Recordings

 

  1. Access your list of Zoom recordings following the above instructions.
  2. Click on the topic of the video.

  1. On the individual recording page, click on the [Download] button to download all three files for the recording.

  1. Or you can choose an individual file to download.

 

Each recording has three files.

m4a: audio only
mp4: the complete video; the shared screen with speaker view
vtt: text file of the audio transcript. You can open this file with Notepad.

 

 

  1. The files will download directly into your local Download folder. Be sure to move them so you know where to find them again.

 


 

Delete Individual Recordings from Zoom Cloud Storage

 

  1. Access your list of Zoom recordings following the above instructions.
  2. Click on the topic to see just that title.
  3. Click on the garbage can icon to the right.

  1. You will get a confirmation screen. Once you're sure that you want to delete all of the videos in the list, click on the blue [Yes] button to confirm and delete your recording.

Delete All of your Cloud Recordings at One Time

 

  1. Sign into your Zoom account through your web browser and navigate to your list of cloud recordings following the directions above.
  2. You can enter a date range in the provided boxes. The [To:] box defaults to today's date. Leaving the [From:] box empty will provide a list of all of your recordings to date.

  1. When your list of recorded videos appears, click on the [Delete All] button in the lower right.

  1. You will get a confirmation screen. Once you're sure that you want to delete all of the videos in the list, click on the blue [Yes] button to confirm and delete your recordings.
