Re-Enabling Multi-Factor-Authentication on a New Phone

When receiving a new phone, you will need to ensure that you are able to access your Multi-Factor Authentication. This will ensure that your account is secure.

Before you begin, take a moment to review the following points.

  1. Make sure that you have both your old phone, and your new phone present with you during this process.
    1. If you do not have your old phone, you will need to go to the ITS Help Desk in the library in order to reset your Multi-Factor Authentication. Please email the Help Desk at helpdesk@union.edu, call them at 518-388-6400, or submit a ticket here.
    2. Note: You will need a form of identification (Union ID, State ID, Passport) in order to reset your factors. Please ensure you have them when you visit the ITS Help Desk.
  2. Make sure you are able to access myapps.union.edu on your device(s). This will ensure you are able to edit your factors.

 

Please make sure you have your computer and old mobile phone with you before you start.

Start by logging in to the Union MyApps portal from any web browser on your computer.

Click on the arrow on the top right of the screen. A drop down box will appear.

Select [Settings].

 

Select [Edit Profile]. You will be prompted to enter your password.    

 

Once your password is entered, you will be brought back to the Account page. Scroll down until you see the "Security Methods" tab.

You will receive a prompt for your current default MFA factor.

 

You will find the list of Okta factors on the bottom of the screen.

Click on the factor that you would like to [Remove]. 

You will receive a prompt for your current default MFA factor.

 

Once completed, the instructions found below are for the factor(s) you wish to set up on your new phone. You can follow the instructions below, based on the app you would like to use.
