Summary
Your class is full of diverse students with unique learning abilities. Providing them with more accessible original content means they can choose formats that work best for them: HTML for improved reading on mobile phones, Electronic Braille for the visually impaired, and Audio for learning on the go. Ally automatically scans your original content and performs a series of steps to make them more accessible.
Body
A new accessibility tool called Blackboard Ally is now available inside all of your Nexus courses.
Blackboard Ally works seamlessly with Nexus, our Union College Learning Management System (LMS), to gauge the accessibility of your content. Ally provides guidance and tips for lasting improvements to your content accessibility.
- Receive feedback on the accessibility of your content
- Improve content accessibility with Ally's step-by-step instructions
Ally automatically checks course content and files in Nexus for common accessibility issues, such as missing alt text or headers. It also looks for content that is not formatted for screen readers. Ally offers feedback on how to improve content accessibility and creates alternative formats such as audio files, electronic braille and screen-readable PDFs. This tool also improves readability for mobile devices and tablets.
