What is Google Jamboard?
Jamboard is an application that's available in Union's G Suite's.
It's a digital whiteboard that allows you to collaborate in real-time, and everyone in the group can collaborate in the Jam anytime and anywhere using their mobile device.
What can I do with Jamboard?
- Work Together in real time
- Write and draw with a stylus or your finger
- Search Google and insert images or webpages
- Drag and resize text and images
- Sketch, and the image recognition technology converts your sketch into a polished image
- Share your Jams with up to 50 collaborators at once.
- Work with Google Drive
- Add Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides to a jam
- View and edit your jam files from anywhere with an internet connection
- Collaborate with any device
- Create, edit and share from your computer, smart phone, tablet or computer
- Open a Jam on a nearby Jamboard with your mobile device
- Pick up where you let off earlier
- Email your Jam session when you're done
How do I get Jamboard?
Jamboard is available as a desktop app for both Windows and Mac, and the mobile app is available for both Android and iOS platforms.
It's part of Union College's G Suite for Education and everyone with a Union email address has access to it.
Desktop Computer
You can simply go to Jamboard in your browser at https://jamboard.google.com/
OR
Jamboard is a Google App and part of Unions G Suite. You can access it through the Google Apps icon.
- Go to any app in the G Suite such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive etc.
- Click on the Google Apps icon in the upper right corner. It looks like a small grid of 9 dots, and is located just to the left of the Union College logo.
- From the drop-down list, scroll down and click on the Jamboard logo.
That's it, you're done.
The app is web-based so there's nothing to install, and you can access it from wherever you have internet access.
Mobile Device
On your mobile device:
- Go to your App Store and search for Jamboard. Be sure to look for their official logo.
- Install the Jamboard app just like you would any other app.
- When you open the app you'll be asked to sign in. Use your college credentials to sign in.
Get Started!
From Your Desktop
- In a browser window, open Jamboard.by going to jamboard.google.com
- At the bottom right, click the orange plus sign in the lower right corner.
Your jam automatically saves to your account.
From the Mobile App
- Open the Jamboard app by tapping the icon on your screen.
- Tap the multi-colored plus sign in the lower right corner.
Your jam automatically saves to your account.
Now What?
Select a tool by clicking on the icon bar on the left side of your screen and start creating!
